How do you balance work with family life?
Working for myself I love being able to balance my days with the children, any school commitments and it was one of the reasons for choosing to be self-employed.
How does your average day unfold and what does it look like?
I am on a wellness journey at the moment. I will get up and walk early, have a nice breakfast with the family and my boys. I drop them off to school, come into the clinic and set up for the day which includes preparing my room, having tea for my clients on hand and then working with my clients in their appointments.
What do you love about your work?
I love working with people, making a difference for them on their skin wellness journey and doing this job feels amazing to me!
Do you listen to any music or podcasts that inspire you?
I love music and feel like it has been a part of my life. My dad was a bass player so I grew up with music. I listen to lots of podcasts on business and the beauty industry. Here in clinic we have a music collection that is calming and relaxing. At home I have an infared sauna, so I have a specific music playlist I play when I’m in there relaxing
The biggest challenge of your career?
For me I feel like I started too late and instead of doing a Diploma when I was young I have instead done smaller trainings which has been more of a challenge.
An achievement you are most happy with to date?
Taking the leap of faith in myself to come to a commercial space and move out of my little home studio, that was safe & comfortable, to come to a bigger premises and take my work seriously, with the aim of making it grow!
What nourishes your own skin wellness?
I feel like nourishing my own skin wellness is having a balanced lifestyle and doing things for myself and wellness. I do colonics, use my infrared sauna, take supplements, face gua sha and cupping that nourish my wellness from the outside and benefit my skin and health on the inside.

Who are the people you admire?
I admire Bryony (see left) who I work with (of B Acupuncture) and my mum, who both started their passion jobs later in life and seeing them make their changes has been really inspiring for me.
What is your idea of true luxury?
Time. Having time to look afford things to look after yourself, like facials, supplements and other important things you do to make you feel good.
If you had any advice for someone looking to start out in a career in this industry, what would it be?
I feel like the way I did things wasn’t the right way, but I have been able to be selective in the training I have done. But over the time I have gone back and studied more courses in detail and this has provided me with the extensive training needed to provide a better service. I have gained training and knowledge that is important to me to help my clients deal with problems they have encountered. I think training is probably the most important thing you can do for yourself.
